September Follow Up Meeting

Page history last edited by Linda Hayes 14 years, 1 month ago
Matrices and Translations.doc  - this is the one that I called "I Like To Move It, Move It".  It covered writing ordered pairs in a matrix, translations, and matrix operations.  Submitted by Linda Hayes.
Let's go the the movies.doc  - this task required you to write three equations with three unknowns and then solve them using matrix equations. Submitted by Linda Hayes.
I bet it's kudzu.doc   - this is a good introductory task to exponential graphs and equations.  It could be extended to include the use of logarithms.  Submitted by Linda Hayes.
My car is worth -differentiated task.doc   - this is one of the tasks that participants are working on differentiating by giving more directions and structure.  Look for it in the future.  It involves exponents and logarithms.  Submitted by Linda Hayes.
Radioactive Decay Investigation.doc   -this is a really fun task that uses dice.  Data is graphed and determined to be exponential. Probability is reviewed and used as a way to find an equation.  Logs could also be incorporated.  Submitted by Linda Hayes
We also used the Human Conics Lesson from Illuminations  Sidewalk chalk and string are required.  Here is a link to the activity.  http://illuminations.nctm.org/LessonDetail.aspx?id=L815

Above are some of the documents that we used at the meeting on 9/15/2010.  If you'll look at the footers on the pages, you will find the original source for the materials.
